MPRA/KRPA Executive Forum
Financial Planning for the Unplanned
The Missouri Park and Recreation Association along with the Kansas Recreation and Park Association have joined forces to present the eighth annual MPRA- KRPA Parks and Recreation Executive Forum. This dynamic leadership conference targets upper-level management professionals in key decision making positions within public agencies in Missouri and Kansas providing parks, recreation and similar community services.
Join us this year as we discuss the effects minimum wage increases in your state and surrounding states have on the many facets of your park and recreation department. With the minimum wage legislation Proposition B underway in Missouri, park and recreation agencies in Kansas and Missouri will face financial burdens to budgets that are already strained.
How can your organization think critically about changing your current approach to doing business to respond to and manage the change that this legislation brings? While the bottom line is important, it is not the only, or even most, important impact to your agency. Done right, you can position yourself to not only survive this challenge, but also to thrive in spite of it. Using real world case studies, we will explore methods of creating sustainable systems that address the challenges additional expenses bring financially, organizationally, and operationally. (And have some fun doing it!)
