Dear Friend of Tennis,

The Kansas City (MO) Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Recreational Coaches Workshop on Fri., Feb. 8th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Tony Aguirre Community Center, 2050 W. Pennway Terrace, KCMO 64108

This center, on KCMO's west side, has a large gym with space available for two tennis courts.

This workshop is six hours (plus a half hour for lunch on site and provided) for anyone interested in learning the basics of coaching & teaching tennis. The emphasis will be for folks on limited facilities (gyms, blacktops, community centers, 1-2 tennis courts) and for assistant coaches/parents/volunteers. There will be information on USTA's new quickstart program designed for teaching the 10 & under audience.

The registration fee is $15 per person. Checks payable to: Plaza Tennis Center.
Registrations MUST be received by Fri., January 18th. If we do not have 20 paid registrants at that time, the workshop is cancelled.

Our clinician is Dan Bratetic of Omaha, NE. Dan is a PTR certified pro and is current the Tennis Service Representative for Nebraska, promoting tennis to parks, Ys, clubs, CTAs and other service agencies. He's also a former state high school doubles champ.

Registration will begin Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. We encourage you to dress ready to participate. At the end of the workshop, registrants will receive curriculums and other materials. You MUST attend the entire workshop to receive materials. (Hey, I don't make the rules, I just get to enforce them)

We would welcome your participation in helping develop & grow the sport of tennis.
